Gunmen have attacked a primary and secondary schools in Minna, the Niger State capital. Daily Trust reports that the school, Limawa primary and secondary school was attacked at about 10:30 a.m. on Monday.



Although there are conflicting information on the attack, the paper said "some sources said the attackers shot sporadically in the air before using their machetes to inflict injuries on the students"

The number of casualties is yet to be ascertained but the Niger state Police command spokesperson DSP Ibrahim Gambari confirmed the incident.


He said normalcy had been returned to the area but gave no further details.


Last week, a female suicide bomber attacked the Federal College of Education, Kontagora, in the state, killing herslef and one other student.
