No fewer than 118 graduands of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) will be awarded first class degrees at the university’s 39th and 40th convocation and Founder’s Day ceremonies.
This was part of the disclosure made by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Godwin Oshodin, when he spoke to journalists in Benin on Tuesday.
According to him, out of a total of 19,472 graduands from the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 academic sessions, 16,076 would bag first degrees while 130 would be awarded with doctorate degrees.
He said that nine recently completed projects, including the university bookshop and a 500-capacity lecture theatre for the faculty of management sciences, would be commissioned during the week-long ceremonies.
