“Chibok girls have accepted Islam, married” – Boko Haram leader

We thought leader of the Islamic terrorist sect, Abubarkar Shekau, was dead. The military still insists that they have killed him but the guy has reportedly released a new video in which he rubbished claims of the widely publicized and “globalised” negotiations with the federal government. 

In the video obtained by AFP, Shekau said there was never a ceasefire agreement and that there would never be.

According to him, the 219 Chibok girls kidnapped in April have been married out to his followers and that they have accepted Islam.

Shekau, was also said to have claimed responsibility of the kidnap of a German national in July in Gombi, Adamawa State. He said they are still holding the captive.

The latest development is a huge setback to the ceasefire negotiations and the possibility of “bringing back the girls”.
