Couple found dead two weeks before wedding

Two lovers, Udogi Eguke and Ese, who were due to get married on November 22 have been found dead in the grooms apartment. The couple who had already sent out invitation cards for their wedding died mysteriously at an apartment in Makolomi Street, Ughelli North Local government Area of Delta State.

Vanguard reports that their landlord, Chief Alfred Onavwa, who shares the top floor of the one-storey building with the groom, confirmed the incident. He told the newspaper that someone had reported his tenant’s long absence to him prompting him to dial his phone number and only to hear it ringing at the apartment downstairs.

His words: “On getting close to the door of the private stairway leading to their apartment, I noticed that it was locked from inside, with a stench oozing out.

“On realizing this, I personally invited the police who came and broke the door only to discover their decomposing bodies.

“Their remains were later deposited in the mortuary and I was made to understand that investigation into the matter was ongoing.

“Even the Ughelli Divisional Police Officer was here to see things for himself.”
