A female suicide bomber blew herself up Sunday at a mobile phone market in Azare Bauchi State, killing several people, witnesses said.
“A suicide bomber came into the market as it was closing and blew herself up in the middle of all the merchants and their customers,” a witness said.
“I saw at least eight dead and lots of others wounded,” another witness, Alyu Habib said. (AFP)

Azare, Bauchi State, has reportedly been bombed again. The police in the state have confirmed the explosion which occurred on Sunday, and said that rescue operation was in progress.

An AFP report said the attack was reported carried out by a female suicide bomber who blew herself up in the middle of traders and customers at the Azare phone market.

The news agency quotes a witness, Aliyu Habib as saying: “I saw at least eight dead and lots of others wounded,”

Officials are however yet to comment on the number of those who might have died or been injured in the blast.

This bomb blast is the third in about a month in the same town.

A motor park was bombed there on October 22 while a First Bank ATM point was bombed on November 7.
