Details of the incident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, are still sketchy, but a student of the college, who pleaded anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria on telephone that the female suicide bomber was instantly killed while another student sustained injury.
The Police spokesman in the state, ASP Ibrahim Gambari, confirmed the incident but said they were yet to get full details of the incident.
“We shall get to you when we get full details”, he told the news agency.
Premium Times however reports that three students were injured. The medium quotes a witness, Aisha Kontagora as saying: “She detonated her bomb vest between the auditorium and the college library. She might have been on her way to the library,”
Ms. Kontagora said so far only the suicide bomber and a young boy, believed to be an Almajiri, died in the attack.
