Pop star, Justin Bieber has been sentenced to two years on probation
and fined $80,900. This came after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanour
vandalism for throwing eggs at a neighbour’s home.
According to the California’s court, Bieber is to serve five
days of community service and complete a 12 weeks anger management programme.
He is also to stay away from the victim and his family for two years.
The 20 year old singer was not present at the arraignment
but his lawyer, Shawn Holley, took the plea on his behalf.
“Justin is glad to get this matter resolved and behind him,”
Holley said in a statement after the verdict was delivered. “He will continue
to move forward focusing on his career and his music.”
Bieber’s egg throwing was described by Deputy district
attorney, Alan Yochelson, as an "extremely immature and silly act".
A spokesman of the singer disclosed said that he had since moved
into a Beverly Hills apartment, and is glad that the matter had ben resolved.
Asides the egg throwing case, Bieber also has two other
cases in Florida and Toronto: The Toronto case has to do with his assault of a
limo driver in December 2013 while the Florida case borders on driving under
influence and resisting arrest even though he was driving with an expired
licence.
Bieber rose at age 15, and has since released four studio
albums. In 2010, His 2010 album debut . My World 2.0, earned him two Grammy
awards nominations.
