President Goodluck Jonathan today, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, met with former Central Bank Governor, and new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi at the Presidential
Villa in Abuja. The Emir was there to break the Ramadan fast with the President.
The
reconciliation meeting was brokered by the Sultan of Sokoto, Saa’ad
Abubakar.
The duo had been poles apart after Sunusi's suspension as CBN governor earlier in the year. The rift however took a new dimension when Sanusi eventually became Emir of Kano, an opposition All Progresssives Congress (APC) controlled state. It undoubtedly drew the ire of Jonathan's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had hours earlier before Sanusi's comfirmation, rushed to congratulate the "wrong" person, Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero.
All now seems to be going well between them as the Emir few weeks ago also withdrew his court case against the Federal Government in which he was challenging his suspension.
