A new condom designed to kill the HIV virus has been invented and would soon be on sale. Is someone happy?

The condoms are lubricated with an antiviral, Viva Gel, an active ingredient which contains 0.5 per cent astodrimer sodium, and are capable of deactivating sexually transmitted viruses like HIV, herpes and human papilloma virus.
The VivaGel condom produced by An Australian bio-tech firm, Starpharma, has received approval and would soon be on sale. Starpharma is in partnership with another firm called Ansell, which is responsible for around 70 per cent of Australia's condom market.
It is hoped the new product would help reduce the transmission of HIV and other STIs, while also reducing the risk of pregnancy.
Genital herpes, caused by the herpes simplex virus, is estimated to affect one in eight Australians above 25 years. Many are unaware of their herpes status and pass it on without knowing.

In Australia, the rate of new HIV infections rose by 10 per cent in 2012, the country’s largest increase in the last 20 years.
So, is casual "banging" about to become less dangerous?
