Reports said the militants had ordered her to put on a veil, and then killed her after returning to find out that she was not wearing one.
According to the BBC, an Al Shabab spokesperson however denied the group's involvement in thekilling claiming that the group does not fully control the area where the woman lived.
Al Shabab, which controls southern and central Somalia, imposes strict rules of behaviour, including Islamic dress codes for men and women.
