Gunmen kidnap Ebonyi State House of Assembly member

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the majority leader of Ebony State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Nwali, from his residence within Abakaliki metropolis. 

According to Vanguard, a member representing Afikpo South East, Eni Uduma Chima confirmed the incident.

Nwali who represents Ikwo South state constituency is believed to be a strong supporter of the Speaker-elect, Hon. Helen Nwobasi.

Details are still sketchy but kidnap may not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the state House of Assembly since last Monday’s impeachment of the Former Speaker, Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku.
