Two people were feared killed today, July 22, in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital when men of the Nigeria  Custom Service clashed with suspected smugglers who allegedly refused to surrender their consignment for checking

THISDAY reports that the incident occurred  at Binukonu motor park, Sawmill area of the city, where the Customs men were trailing of a vehicle carrying suspected smuggled cosmetics products and car air freshners.

Sources said the occupants of teh vehicle engasged the customs men in a shootout during which a man at the motor park was hit by a stray bullet. The development then led to rioting by colleagues of th deceased who burnt used tyres at different areas of the city by colleagues of the dead person. 
The confusion, it was learnt, lasted for several hours and forced traders to lock up their shops and flee for their dear lives.
