President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Aminu Maigari has been impeached today, July 24, 2014. His ouster followed a vote of no confidence passed on him at a stormy meeting of the executives at the Abuja secretariat of the body.

First Vice president of the NFF, Mike Okeke Umeh has now been  made the Acting President of the NFF.

The meeting was the first thebody was having after its reinstatement last week.

Maigari was accused of: "uncalled-for secrecy surrounding all financial dealings of the Federation and failure to call meeting of the Executive Committee for the past eight (8) months, during which so many weighty decisions on Nigeria football had been taken by a small cabal within the Board".

A statement after the meeting read: "the Committee approved the immediate dismissal of Alhaji Aminu Maigari, from the NFF Executive Committee on grounds of financial misappropriation, misapplication and maladministration."

Umeh will now oversee the administration of the NFF and also preside over the coming elections that will be held on 26th August,2014 in Warri.
