The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has cancelled the Eid al Fitri celebrations in Kano
owing to today's bom attack on St. Charles Catholic Church, Sabon Gari which killed five people, and another failed attempt on North Western University in which a female suicide bomber was forced to blow up herself.
A statemenmt isuued on behalf of the Emir by an aide reads:“Given
the critical situation we are in, the royal highness (of Kano state, Emir
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi) has suspended all festivities associated with the
eminence including the Durbar and other traditional events that are held during
the Eid festival"
