Nigeria’s auto market is about to receive a boost with the introduction of brand new cars made in Nigeria by Innosun Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM), a division of Innoson Group of Companies. The cars are to cost N1.5million only.
Recall that on May 29, a made in Nigeria car, designed and built by Nissan, was displayed and was test run by President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Kia motors have also stated that their “Made in Nigeria” cars would debut in September, giving more hope of Nigerians being able to afford new cars.
The chairman and chief executive officer of IVM, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, announced on June 21 at a road show held in Enugu that the cars made by his company would be introduced as from August 8 at the cost of N1.5million.
According to him, the cars are fully air conditioned and fitted with every other gadgets that makes a brand new car designed for the Nigerian environment. He disclosed that the costllest of the coming cars would be N3.5million.
Speaking at the road show organized by Empower Nigeria at the Enugu campus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Chukwuma said: “I will launch my own cars in about two weeks time. And the cars will cost between N1.5million and N3.5million, depending on the cadre”

IVM introduces automotive products from China, Japan and Germany. It's product line includes heavy duty vehicles, middle and high level buses, special environment friendly vehicles. The company also carries out optimization design and assembly.
