Tragedy struck in Ibadan on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 when a
35‑year
old commercial motorcyclist, committed suicide by jumping into a pool.
Sympathisers gathered at the Onipepeye area of the city, where the incident took place, wondering why the man, dentified as Ismaila Isa, decided to take his own life.
Eyewitnesses said they saw, come from the Adegbayi/Alakia
end of the road, only for him to park his motorcycle and thrown himself into
the deep pool where he drowned as people around including his colleagues could
not help him.
The man’s corpse, according to an official of the Fire
Services, Oyekunle Kareem, had been handed over to the police but the police
was yet to confirm the incident.
