Carpenter commits suicide after girlfriend defrauded him

 Tragedy struck in Abeokuta last Saturday when a middle-aged man, Samsideen Akinwunmi, reportedly committed suicide after being duped by his girlfriend.

Akinwunmi, was said to have hung himself on a ceiling fan in his room at Aboaba Street, Itori-Odo, Abeokuta.

Vanguard quotes a source as saying that the deceased, who happened a carpenter, left a suicide note which explained why he decided to take his life.

“He indicated that his estranged lover had swindled him of all his life savings and that he had to kill himself since he could not go on with life”.

The Police reportedly took his body away. He was found dead at about 2:45pm Saturday afternoon.
