Embattled Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Sunday Onyebuchi was been impeached this morning by the State House of Assembly.

His removal followed the adoption of the report of the 7-man panel that investigated allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him by 22 out of the 24 members of the House.

The House Leader, Hon. S.K.E. Udeh-Okoye who moved motion for the adoption of the report said the panel of investigation had come up with the conclusion that the "allegations of gross misconduct levelled against Onyebuchi by the House have been proved".

The “gross misconduct” is believed to be his operation of a poultry farm at his official residence.

Meanwhile, Onyebuchi who spoke to journalists few hours after his impeachment , said he was heading to court to challenge his removal.

Expressing confidence that the court will reinstate him, he advised his successor not to operate a poultry house alone but to rear ostriches, monkeys and cows.

He made the statement in an apparent reference to his earlier testimony before the impeachment panel. He had stated that Governor Sullivan Chime reared monkeys, ostriches and other animals at the Government House.
