Robbers last Friday stormed a farm belonging to the Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Morro, in Ugbokolo, Benue State, and made away with 63 cows.

They have however been arrested by the police.

Addressing newsmen in Makurdi, over the weekend, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Daniel Ezeala, a DSP, said the suspected robbers, Babangida Saidu and Adamu Alhaji, said the robbers shot to scare away the security men.

He said the gunshots attracted the police who mobilised and gave the gunmen a hot chase, leading to an exchange of gunfire with the robbers. He said police overpowered the robbers and recovered the cows at Aliade in Gwer Local Government Area.

The Police spokesman said Saidu hailed from Suleja in Niger State while Alhaji is from Igumale in Ado local government area of Benue State.

According to him, a local made pistol was recovered from the suspects while others escaped.
