Two feared dead as hoodlums attack traditional ruler’s palace in Lagos

Terror reigned yesterday, August 19, 20124 in Oto town, Lagos Mainland Local Government Area as hoodlums clashed in the area reportedly leaving two persons dead.

The hoodlums attacked the palace of the Oloto of Oto, Oba Ganiyu Odesanya and vandalised some vehicles parked within and outside the premises.

According to PM NEWS, over 100 hoodlums were involved in the attack which also saw some houses been set ablaze. Riot policemen had to be called in to quell the violence.

Confirming that his palace was attacked, Oba Odesanya said he was in his palace having a meeting with some monarchs when he heard gunshots.

He disclosed that the attack on the town had been going on for some time, adding that he did not know what the hoodlums want. He then appealed to the State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, to help bring the criminals to book.

According to him, members of the community now sleep with one eye open as there are fears that the hoodlums may strike again.
