Woman burns 14 year-old girl’s genitals for bed wetting

Police in Abuja has detained a woman for allegedly forcing a 14-year old girl to sit on a hot stove as punishment for bed wetting. The incident occurred at Dutse Alhaji, in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Confirming the incident, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Altine Daniel, said that the girl, a sister-in-law of the accused, was receiving treatment at the Garki General Hospital, Abuja.

“The girl is now recuperating at the hospital and the police will ensure that her safety is not compromised,” she said.
