Police in Ogun State has arrested two kidnappers at the point of collecting the ransom they had requested for the release of their captives. They were accused of kidnapping two children, Tolulope (9) and Omodolapo (7)


According to the police, the prime suspect, Kingson Sunday (27), a teacher, was a friend to the kidnapped children’s family who helped in taking them to and from school.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that Sunday, after kidnapping the kids in Ogun State, took them to Ebonyi.
The Ogun police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said Sunday demanded N500,000 as ransom from the children’s parents and sent the account number of his accomplice, 47 year old August Johnson who resided at  at Ohaozara in Ebonyi.

The police however credited the account with N150, 000 and put the account under surveillance.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that the suspects were nabbed when they attempted to withdraw the money from the account. The police were alerted by informants monitoring the account in Ebonyi State.
