The suspects, Kendra Tooley, 44 and her boyfriend, Ricky Roy House Jr, 37, will now face preliminary charges of rape and criminal confinement.

The victim, Joelle Lockwood, a 30-year-old mother-of-two, was reported missing on July 9 in Evansville.

Lockwood was allegedly abducted by House after he offered her a ride after a party. Sheriff Oeth of the Evansville Police Department said that the two had gone to high school together.
At House's suggestion Lockwood agreed to go back to his trailer.

Oeth said: “Once they arrived there, he forced her to stay and confined her. As the investigation is progressing, this looks like there's more of a sexual motive”

Police said Tooley has admitted that Lockwood was abducted and held, but House has so far refused to cooperate with authorities.

The man who rescued her, Ron Higgs, said she was kept in a small wooden cage in the suspect’s home.

Mr Higgs said he visited the couple’s trailer on Thursday and was dumbfounded when Tooley told him, "I've got a girl back here in a cage”.

Higgs told a local WFIE-TV: "She had a t-shirt on, and that was it," Higgs told local. She had a leather belt, like a dog collar on. Every night, they locked her in there. No food, no water.
He also disclosed that Ms Lockwood was only allowed to leave her confinement to cook and clean.
Mr Higgs said he stayed with the couple and on the second night, Ms Lockwood pleaded with him to rescue her.

Higgs, 61, said: "That's when she told me on the second night with tears running down her eyes, 'Please, do not leave here without me. And I promised her, 'If I have to give my life to get you out of here - I will.'"

According to Police, Higgs drove her to safety on Saturday after convincing House and Tooley that he would not tell police. Then officers moved in to arrest the suspects after the captive was taken to hospital. Higgs has howver not explaned how he managed to get her out of the house.

"Everybody's calling me a hero," Mr Higgs said, "I'm just a pure bred American that believes in freedom."
