The men, according to the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ismaila Numan, who confirmed the incident to NAN, were caught allegedly trying to snatch an ‘Okada’ in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

He said that on receiving a distress call, police officers were moved to the area “but before our men got to the scene of the incident, the two suspects were already set ablaze by the angry mob while the third suspect ran away”.

He decried the mob action, warning members of the public from taking laws into their hands and stressing that such suspects when caught should be handed over to the police. He however added that the command had commenced investigation in the matter.
