The more you look at this Boko Haram and Chibok girls issue, the less you see and the more confused you are likely to get. And the question that remains is: What is really happening “gan”?

Firstly, a picture surfaced online of how “Abubakar Shekau” was questioned and probably tortured before being killed in Konduga. Hope you can see someone holding a dagger…

Well, how come the Cameroonians said they killed him in an airstrike? How come the Nigerian military did not notice the resemblance and taken steps to save us all the confusion of whether it was Shekau or not? How come he wasn’t captured for confirmation? Did they get anything from him during the “questioning”? The questions are “plenty”. You have your own questions too, abi?
Anyway let’s just hope it is Shekau or else…

Meanwhile, just as the death of Shekau was being confirmed by th Defence Headquarters, another source of wonder emerged when one out of the 219 abducted Chibok girl was reportedly found. She reportedly identified herself as Susanna.

Reports said a senior police officer in Mubi confirmed that the girl was dropped off near the Divisional Police Headquarters in Mubi by locals who discovered her after she was thrown off a truck by insurgents trying to escape from Nigerian troops. She was reportedly thrown into the bush and had wandered for two days and found herself at the village of Kwarihi, near Mubi, Adamawa State.

According to the officer, when the girl was found, she was incoherent, and had scars and old and fresh wounds all over her body.

Susanna has reportedly been handed over to the Yola Police Command but neither the police not Defence Headquarters have commented on the issue.

But leader of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign and former Minister of Education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, in a tweet last night commented on the reported rescue.

She wrote: “After the emotional upheaval of yesterday's (Tuesday) dashed hopes, today came with the factual return of one of our 219 #ChibokGirls. She’s in trauma.

“One #ChibokGirl, miraculously found in a bush by locals and returned today, is confirmed by Chibok parents with her in Yola. Incredible!

“It is hard to comprehend the return of Susan who is yet incoherent. The locals that found her took her to Mubi Police and now moved to Yola.

“The eternal optimist that I am makes me see the return of Susan as a good sign for the rest of our 219 Chibok daughters. They shall return!!

“One hopes that our security/military would approach Susan’s return in a way that helps us learn more in the next couple of days.”

Like Ezekwesili said, Susanna’s rescue or escape or freedom is hard to comprehend so also is the fact that the incident coincides with the reported killing of Shekau and the interception of a bus conveying 57 escapee Chibok girls in Borno state which raised reports that the girls had been rescued only for the military to deny the report.
