A tiger has been killed by another tiger at a zoo inWinnipeg, Canada, after staff mistakenly left a gate unlocked.


Authorities of the Assiniboine Park Zoo said in a statement that a 19-year old male Amur tiger, named Baikal, died Thursday morning.

According to the statement, the large cat, was able to get through the gate and into an adjoining enclosure with two young males.

One of the younger tigers then attacked the older one.

The zoo said no visitors were in any danger and a review of the incident was underway.
