The Assistant spokesman of the NSCDC, Shola Odumosun, said the incident occurred at about 11am.
The Nation reports that the policemen also allegedly tried to force their way into the corps’ headquarters but the corps’ official prevented them. It was also reported that there were sporadic shootings from the policemen.
This incident caused chaos as people around the area scampered in various directions in order to avoid being hit by stray bullets.
