Presidency stops NFF’s monthly allocation
The Federal Government has stopped the monthly allocation meant for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) owing to allegations of monumental fraud and gross misuse of funds by the Aminu Maigari-led body.
It was learnt that the Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo had been directed to take charge and monitor the disbursement of funds and ensure its judicious use.
The action means that the NFF would not directly get July’s N253 million allocation.
Sources disclosed that the ousted NFF President, Aminu Maigari, was already being asked to account for the funds released by the Federal Government for the World Cup, the money released by FIFA for the World Cup and the over one billion naira allegedly left in the NFF coffers by the Sani Lulu Abdullahi-led board.
