Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has blamed members of the elite class for the loss of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the June 21  governorship election held in Ekiti State, which saw Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ayo Fayose trounce the incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Speaking at a breakfast meeting he organized for political appointees and APC stakeholders at Government House, Owerri, the Imo State capital, Chief Okorocha also blamed it on the grassroots and said that most of the party’s leaders in the area.
He then urged members of the party throughout the country to change their attitude for one that would help the party achieve its objectives in next year’s election, saying that “the success or failure of APC lies in the hands of the party members”
He expressed optimism that the APC will win all other coming elections and as a matter of fact produce the country’s next president in 2015.
He also said: “APC has concluded arrangements to embark on programmes and projects that will make the party more vibrant in the state”.
