Boy stabs father in the eye for failing to buy him “Christmas cloths”

An SS3 student simply identified as Ikechi on Thursday stabbed his father in the eye for failing to buy him “Christmas cloths”. 

Sources close to the family disclosed that the father, Anthony had explained to the boy that there was not enough money to buy him and his three siblings cloths this Christmas but Ikechi would have none of that.

He reportedly held his father, hostage for some minutes in their apartment at Arowojobe Street in Oshodi, Lagos, preventing him from going to work and insisting that he must get the money for the Christmas wears which he had planned to wear to a friend’s birthday party.

DailyPost quotes Ikechi’s cousin, Ukachukwu, as saying:

“He accused his father of hating him and, fed up with his complaints, the man got his belt and began to flog the boy. 

“As his father continued flogging him, Ikechi reached for a knife and stabbed him straight in the eye. Upon seeing the horror of his deed, Ikechi took his heels. 

“When I wanted to run off to the police station to report the issue to the police, his mother begged me not to, as it will ‘involve more expenses”

Anthony is currently under intensive care in a hospital and there are fears that he may lose his sight.
