Big Christmas in Ekiti: Fayose distributes 80,000 chickens, 100,000 bags of rice to residents

This Christmas is arguably the best time to be resident in Ekiti. Why? The state governor, Ayodele Fayose on Thursday and Friday, distributed about 80,000 chickens and 100,000 bags of rice to residents.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said that the distribution of the largesse, which included cash gifts, were under the Stomach Infrastructure programme.

He said that while some of the residents besieged the governor’s office to get theirs, others had theirs delivered to them in their houses

The CPS added that: 

“Some of the elderly, who could not hide their joy at the rear opportunity of having to celebrate the season with the package, poured torrents of prayers on the man they referred to as supporter of the common man. 

“As early as 10am, the governor, alongside several members of staff, had started distributing the package to the people who kept appearing in their multitude.” 

 “They showed appreciation to the governor for putting himself in the shoes of the common man who may find it difficult to prepare a sumptuous meal for his family at this period of festivity”
