The Police in Enugu state has nabbed a three-man armed robbery gang that specializes in attacking supermarkets within the Enugu metropolis.


The arrest of the suspects, came on December 9, after a distress call was received by operatives of the New-Haven division. The suspects, one of whom, was a woman, were reported to be operating at a shopping plaza located at Upper-Chime Avenue, New-Haven Enugu.


According to BestNaira News:

The operatives swung into action were they promptly cordoned off the supermarket, and arrested two suspects who gave their names as Ejike Emeka and Joy Anatonwu, a lady, who had allegedly stolen some assorted Brazilian hair attachment, dresses,bags, make-ups,shoes,hand bags amongst other items.

In another development, men of the Udi division of the state also nabbed another  two armed robbery gang that specializes in terrorizing commuters plying Udi/Ozalla road.


The suspects, identified as Chikwado Oyii of Umuoka village and Daniel Udeh of Amagu village were busted by the police through a joint effort with the neighbourhood watch group in Udi.

The suspects were about blocking the road to commence their robbery activities before they were arrested.
One single barreled gun, one live cartridge, one battle axe, a pair of slippers, handsets and a lady’s bag containing clothes were recovered from the hoodlums.
