South Africa’s most beautiful girl, Rolene Strauss wins Miss World 2014

South Africa’s most beautiful girl, Rolene Strauss has been crowned Miss World 2014, beating more than 120 other contestants. She takes over from Miss World 2013, Megan Young of the Philippines.

The 22 year old medical student clinched the title on Sunday evening at a glitzy ceremony held at ExCel London Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Miss Hungary, Edina Kulcsár and Miss United States, Elizabeth Safrit came second and third respectively.

The beauty contest’s top five finalists for this year were were contestants from England, United States, Hungary, Australia and South Africa.

Several other beauty queens won subsidiary titles in some events held prior to the grand finale

We recall that Late Miss Honduras, Maria Jose Alvarado, 19, was supposed to take part in the contest. She was shot dead last month by her sister's boyfriend.
