» » Disaster averted! Police discover bomb planted in Kano food market

Barely 24 hours after the busy Kantin Kwari textile market in Kano was bombed by two female suicide bombers, a high caliber Improvised Explosive Device has been discovered planted in Dawnau market, a popular food market in the city.


Police said the bomb was concealed in a sack and hidden at a location in the market. It has however been defused by the police anti-bomb squad.

We have successfully detonated the bomb and I can assure you that we have restored normalcy to the market,” the State Commissioner of Police in the State, Adelenre Shinaba said
