According to a Vanguard report, a driver who fled from the scene, Mallam Abor Modu said they were coming back from cross Kawa when the terrorists suddenly showed up in up to 10 vehicles and opened fire on motorists plying the Maiduguri- Baga road in the village.
He was quoted as saying:
“I had to stop with five of my passengers when I saw a Chadian resembling Boko Haram terrorist in a Hilux Vehicle mounted with Multi Purpose Machine gun opening fire sporadically on any vehicle he came across”.
