Man dies after consuming 8 cans of Bullet Energy drink

A man, Elijah Nwankwo, from Ikwo local Government Area of Ebonyi state has died after drinking eight cans of Bullet Energy drink.

Sources said the deceased and a friend, one Chikwado Nchionu had betted over the fact that Nwankwo could not finish eight cans of the drink. Nchionu, it was learnt, placed a bet of N1600.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in Enugu State, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, said that the deceased became weak and went into coma after taking the drinks.

Amaraizu said in a statement:

“He was consequently rushed to the Mother of Christ Hospital Enugu, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. 

His body has also been deposited at the hospital mortuary for necessary action
