APC Muslim-Muslim ticket: Banky W says Fashola should be Buhari’s running mate

EME boss and R&B singer, Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) has lashed out at those kicking against a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and his Vice.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday morning, Banky W said: “Zoning. Religion-ing. It’s all crap”

According to him, a leader’s tribe or religion does not count as long as he gives true leadership and good service to the people.

He threw his weight behind Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola in becoming Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2015 elections.

His tweets read:

“It should be Fashola….I don’t care about my leader’s tribe, religion, or whatever jargon they keep feeding us.

Zoning. Religion-ing. It’s all crap…

Some of my mentors, clients, business partners, colleagues are from different tribes and religions than mine. What difference does it make?

I don’t choose who to do business with based on if they’re from my village. I don’t choose who to associate with based on their religion.

Who cares if Fashola is a muslim? Didn’t we vote him into power in Lagos? Did the fact that he’s muslim affect the way he leads the state?”

Tribe.. Religion… these are just tools people use to divide us. And then we wonder why we’re in the same position decades later.

He also cited the case of Chief M.K.O Abiola, a Muslim, who won the 1993 presidential election on a landslide with a Muslim running mate, Baba Gana Kingibe.
