Horror in Edo: Man butchers neighbour’s 4 children

A middle-aged man in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo state has reportedly butchered his neighbour’s four children, killing two and leaving two in critical condition.

The man, simply identified as Mike, was said to have in the hacked two of the children, Favour Oliver, 3, and Destiny Oliver, nine months to death with a machete.

He also reportedly attacked two other children of the family, Gift, 7, and Goodness, 5, severing their nose and wrist, respectively before fleeing the crime scene.

The kids are currently receiving treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where doctors have described their case as “stable but critical”.

As at the time of the incident which happened on Wednesday, the father of the children, Mr. Oliver, was said to be away from home. His wife, Chinyere Oliver reportedly fled for her life.

The assailant lived in the same building with them and was said to have had a long-running quarrel with the Olivers before the incident.

The case was said to have been reported at the New Etete Police Station but the Edo State Police Command spokesman, Noble Uwoh, is yet to confirm the incident.
