EFCC declares Bank Staff wanted over N6.28billion fraud

An IT staff of a new generation bank (name withheld) has allegedly defrauding the bank to the tune of N6.28 billion and has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The suspect, Godswill Onyegwa Uyoyou

In a release issued the Commission’s website, the suspect, Godswill Onyegwa Uyoyou, 38, was said to have connived with some scammers to hack into his bank’s database to steal the money.

According to the information on the website, the suspect hails from Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. His last known address is No. 7 Balogun Akarutu Street, off Tijani Salako, Ile-epo Ashamu Estate, Ejigbo-Lagos.

The EFCC, has declared that it was determined to apprehend and try Uyoyou. It has requested members of the public to report him if he is seen anywhere.

The release said: “The public is hereby notified that Godswill Oyegwa Uyoyou, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Obtaining Money under False pretence and Electronic Transfer of Fund”.
