Just about 24 hours after a private plane that flew aimlessly and unresponsive over the Atlantic Ocean crashed of the coast of Jamaica on Friday, another plane has crashed, this time in a jungle region in Colombia.
The countries officials say at least 10 people are believed to have died.
Associated Press reports that the director of operations for Colombia's civil aeronautics agency disclosed that at least three bodies have been recovered and officials are trying to identify the victims.
Col. Juan Carlos Rocha says the plane was reported missing at about 3 p.m. (2000 GMT) Saturday on a flight from Araracuara to Florencia in the country's southwest.
Officials are trying to determine why it crashed in the Puerto Santander region.
Meanwhile, search-and-rescue operations resumed Saturday off Jamaica's northeast coast as crews hope to solve the mystery of the unresponsive plane that crashed on Friday.
The mystery is that debris spotted off the coast on Friday evening could no longer be seen.
Jamaica Coast Guard Commander Antonette Wemyss-Gorman told a news conference Saturday afternoon that:"We would have to assume it may have sunk," she said.
Jane and Larry Glazer, a prominent upstate New York couple, were the only people on the plane. They were both 68 years old.
