Boy kills father over N10 cigarette

A 19- year-old boy, Bestman Momodu, hacked his father to death over a stick of cigarette worth N10. He was paraded on Monday by the police in Edo State.

Trouble reportedly started when Bestman smoked the cigarette belonging to his father.

When his father discovered the cigarette missing, he accosted him and in the hot argument and fisticuffs that ensued, Bestman took a cutlass and cut his father three times, killing him instantly.

The incident occurred on August 16 at their home in Ubiane, Aviele in Estako West local government area of the state.

During an interview with journalists, he said it was a mistake. “You know it was the kind of life we used to live. It was a mistake”.
