Boko Haram militants have reportedly killed seven people in a Borno village by beheading them, an AFP report says.

A resident said that locals woke up to find out that the terrorists had killed seven people by slicing their throats in the overnight raid targeted at the town of Ngamdu in the state.

A resident was quoted as saying that the gunmen "slit their throats just the way people slaughter goats”.

The attack was believed to be a reprisal attack on locals who assisted the military as vigilantes or civilian JTF.

It was learnt that 15 Boko Haram fighters were killed in clashes in Ngamdu two weeks ago and the group had vowed revenge against the community.
