A list of 23 players has been released by FIFA as nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or award. The list does not have any English player but has five English Premier League players. It also does not include Barcelona’s Luis Suarez obviously due to his controversial biting of Italy’s Giogio Chiellini.
Germany, which won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has six players on the list, the highest number from a single country.
The 23-man list will be pruned down to three on December 1 and the winner will be announced on January 12, 2015 in Zurich Switzerland
Check out the full list, and also the list of nominees for Coach of the year.
