It was quite a scene at Pen-Cinema in Agege, Lagos on Friday evening when three men in army uniforms took to their heels when they sighted a police patrol team.

PM News reports that few minutes before that dramatic scene, four men in army uniforms riding in a Mitshibushi car with FST 597 CM accosted another man, a civilian, and tried to force him into their car.

One of them was said to have pointed a knife at him but the man resisted vehemently insisting that he did not know them and asked to be taken to a nearby police station.

The incident attracted on-lookers and passersby who also insisted that the victim be taken to a police station instead.

While the “soldiers” were also insisting that the man must enter their car, a police patrol team drove to the scene. And what happened? Three of the “soldiers” took to their heels, abandoning their car.

The police gave them a hot pursuit but they escaped through the rail line. Then it became clear that they were fake soldiers trying to kidnap the man.

The fourth couldn’t escape and was arrested. He was thrown into the police vehicle and taken to the police station for questioning.
