Tambuwal made the official declaration today in a short message delivered at the end of plenary on Tuesday after the House had adjourned to December 3 to allow members take part in their various party primaries.
Tambuwal, who is believed to be gunning for the governorship seat in his home state, Sokoto said he was leaving the PDP due to the political developments in the state.
The speaker last Monday, October 20, attended an APC stakeholders meeting in Sokoto, prompting the belief that it was only a matter of a declaration from him for his defection to be official.
Whether he would lose his seat as speaker is left to be determined even though the House's next sitting is December 3
