The Ebola virus expanded its each in West Africa on Thursday after Mali recorded its first case of the virus on Thursday. The patient, according to authorities is a two-year-old girl.
On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said it was sending a team of three experts to help the country fight the virus. The health body said four more would be sent over the next few days.
Meanwhile, authorities in Mali are monitoring 43 people who have been in contact with the girl, including 10 health workers.
With this latest development, Mali becomes the sixth West African country to have recorded the virus which, according to the W.H.O, has killed 4877 people.
