Nigeria might have escaped another FIFA ban with Justice Ambrose Alagoa of the Federal High Court in Jos striking out the case against Amaju Pinnick-led board of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday.
The ruling followed an earlier withdrawal of the case by the Chris Giwa-led faction.
The withdrawal is undoubtedly a product of President Goodluck Jonathan’s intervention. The President had held a meeting with both factions on Wednesday.
Giwa had challenged the validity of the September 30 elections in Warri, Delta State, which brought in Pinnick and his executive members.
The country now looks good to escape a ban from FIFA who had given the country a Friday, October 31 deadline to withdraw the case from court.
