Lt. Col. Adeboye Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was yesterday, September 8, wounded during a gun battle between the Army and the Boko Haram insurgents in Adamawa State, has been admitted at the Federal Medical Centre in Yola (FMC) where he is undergoing treatment.
Acting Governor of the State, Ahmadu Fintiri, who visited Adeboye in hospital today commended the Army for their efforts in containing insurgency in the state.
Fintiri was received at the hospital by the Chief Medical Director, Dr Aliyu Danburam, who said that the junior Obasanjo was in stable condition and recuperating from the injuries he sustained.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubarkar also paid the wounded soldier a visit at the hospital today. A source revealed that Atiku likened the wounded soldier's courage with that his father, President Obasanjo.
Boko Haram militants had yesterday ambushed the platoon led by the President’s son near Mubi, Adamawa State, shooting him. He had sustained serious injuries to his legs. Read the report here
