Vintim village in Adamawa State where Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, hails from was reportedly attacked by Boko Haram insurgents last night. Several other towns and villages were also attacked but details are not yet available.


Reports also have it that the Emir of Mubi,  Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, has fled his town in the wake of fighting between  Nigerian soldiers and the Boko Haram sect.

THISDAY reports that the siege on Gulak, Michaka, Bazza and its environs has continued to  have  ripple effects on the commercial border town of Mubi as many have deserted the town and crossed over to  the neighboring Cameroun.

In the words of a resident in Gulak, one of the towns occupied by Boko Haram, “We couldn’t sleep, due to the heavy gun shots that pervaded the air in the night and for now no one could say the exact situation”.
