Imagine boarding a bus in Lagos only to get your ear bitten off by the bus conductor. That was the fate of Kabiru Olugbemi who, because of N20, got his ear bitten off by a 32-year old bus conductor, Taye Ajayi at Micon bus stop in Egbeda area of the city.
Ajayi has however been arrested and charged to court.
The victim had boarded a bus and paid Ajayi who was a conductor in the bus N30 instead of the N50 as demanded by Ajayi.
PM News reports that when Olugbemi got to Micon bus stop en route Egbeda, he alighted from the bus just as he tried to walk away, angry Ajayi reportedly grabbed his left her and bit it off, throwing it on the ground.
Olugbemi, bleeding profusely, was rushed to a hospital with the detached ear but a doctor confirmed the ear dead and cannot be fixed back.
Ajayi was charged with inflicting permanent injury on the victim under the Criminal Code. He however pleaded not guilty.
The case was adjourned till October 6, 2014 after the presiding magistrate, Mr P.E.Nwaka granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody until he fulfills the bail conditions.
